Welcome music before Sacrament Meeting
Families, individuals, and groups may offer a hymn or sacred musical number before the official meeting begins. This is separate from the hymns in the meeting program.
Protected editing
Approved editors sign in with Google or a secure email link.
For ward members and visitors
- Start on the home page. Current announcements appear first, followed by a short list of upcoming events.
- Choose an organization. Use the organization menu to focus on Relief Society, Elders Quorum, youth, Primary, or ward-wide information.
- Open an item. Links, flyers, signup buttons, locations, and full descriptions appear when they are available.
- Use the full calendar. Select Open full calendar to switch between month and list views.
Participate, share an idea, or request help
- Welcome music before Sacrament Meeting: choose an available Sunday at the welcome-music signup. Families, individuals, duets, choirs, and other groups may offer a hymn or sacred musical number before the official meeting begins. This is not the opening, sacrament, intermediate, or closing hymn in the meeting program.
- Ward Bulletin: read or print the published bulletin and submit an announcement for a future Sunday.
- Sacrament meeting: offer to speak, pray, or provide a musical number during the official meeting. An offer is not an assignment; a bishopric member will follow up.
- Share an Idea: offer a talent, solution, activity, resources, or a practical plan. Anonymous presentation hides your identity from auxiliary reviewers, while Site Administrators retain it for safety and follow-up.
- Ward Needs: offer practical help, a freezer meal, rides, or other support, and open JustServe for community opportunities.
- Request an Appointment: send a private scheduling request to the Executive Secretary. The request is emailed directly, is not stored on the website, and is not visible to Site Administrators. Avoid including confidential spiritual, welfare, worthiness, or counseling details in the scheduling form.
Privacy: Public submissions are not posted automatically. Appointment requests use a separate private route and are not saved in the site database.
Add the ward calendar
- Open the full calendar.
- Select Add ward calendar or Choose your calendar.
- Choose Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar, or download the calendar file.
- Approve the subscription in your calendar app. Subscribing allows future ward calendar updates to appear automatically.
The calendar combines ward-managed events and the connected Church calendar. When the same activity appears in more than one source, the site combines the useful information when it can identify a match.
Use a signup sheet
- Open the signup link from an announcement, event, or organization page.
- Choose a time, item, or volunteer opportunity when choices are listed.
- Enter your name and any requested contact information.
- Submit the form and save the private cancellation link shown afterward.
What others can see: Your name, selection, and quantity may appear on the public signup. Your email, phone number, age information, private notes, and cancellation link are restricted to authorized organizers.
For authorized leaders
Sign in
- Open Leadership Sign In.
- Select Continue with Google, or request a secure email link.
- Use the exact email address approved by ward leadership.
Add an event or announcement
- Choose the appropriate editor tab.
- Select Add event or Add announcement.
- Complete the title, organization, dates, description, links, and optional flyer.
- Save a draft or submit it for review. Ward Publishers and Site Administrators may publish immediately.
Create a page
Open Pages, select Add page, choose the organization, and add the page content. Published pages can be placed in the site navigation without rebuilding the website.
Create a signup
Open Signups and select Add signup. Choose times, requested items or food, campout or youth registration, temple-trip categories, private appointment times, or another format. Set opening and closing dates, choose the private information to collect, and attach a flyer or release-form link if needed.
Automatic event archiving
Published events move to the archive after their end time. If no end time is entered, they archive after the event date has passed. Editors do not need to remove past events manually.
Assign one-signup access
Open the signup and select Manage coordinators. A Roster Viewer can view and print private responses. A Signup Coordinator can also edit the signup choices and close or reactivate that signup.
Who can do what
| Role | Access |
| Visitor | View public information, calendars, flyers, and signup forms. |
| Roster Viewer | View and print private responses for one assigned signup. |
| Signup Coordinator | Manage one assigned signup and its private roster; cannot grant access. |
| Auxiliary Editor | Manage content for one organization and assign access to that organization’s signups. |
| Ward Publisher | Review and publish content and manage any signup. |
| Site Administrator | Manage Leaders & Authorizations, forms, settings, and all content. |
Calendar & Planning — Leadership
Sign in to the Leadership Portal, then select Activity Reports & Planning. This workspace is for authorized leaders, not the public navigation.
- Filter: Select Entire ward or an auxiliary and choose the date range.
- Print: Group by Date or Auxiliary, then choose Print / Save PDF. For conflicts, select Conflict review and its print button.
- Compare conflicts: Overlapping activities appear side by side with their organization and subgroup when recorded. Overlap is a warning, not proof of a mistake.
- Practice only: Activity drafts, proposed merges, keep-one choices, and reviewed flags are stored in this browser only. They do not update published activities or other leaders' views.
- Spreadsheet review: Importing a CSV here only previews possible duplicates; it does not synchronize or publish events.
Security: Use the Leadership Portal to make real changes. Do not enter confidential member information in practice drafts.
Common problems
I cannot sign in
Open sunsetlakeward.com/editor.html directly in Chrome or Safari rather than inside another app. Use the approved Google account. If Google reports a redirect mismatch, contact the Site Administrator.
I do not see the content I expected
Check the organization filter and confirm the item is published. Auxiliary Editors see only their assigned organization; signup-specific users see only their assigned signup sheets.
An event appears twice
Report both versions to a Ward Publisher. An editor can combine missing details and preserve the best source information.
I need access changed
Ask the person who manages that auxiliary, a Ward Publisher, or the Site Administrator. Signup-specific access can be removed at any time.
